Bobblehead Of The Day: Albert Pujols

So my first bobblehead pickup of the year was down in Anaheim. The Angels gave away Albert Pujols bobbleheads to all fans in attendance at Tuesday's game against the Athletics.

Every time I go to an Angels game, I feel like I'm going on an undercover assignment. I dunno, it just feels weird. I tell myself, if I want the bobble, I've gotta make the drive to OC and sit in the sea of red. Now, I'm not gonna rag on Angel fans, but being at an Angel game is about as fun as being at a funeral. Everyone is sitting on their hands. There's no chanting for their team. There's no clapping. There's no excitement whatsoever. It's just plain dull. Kinda like the bobblehead you're about to see.

This Albert Pujols bobblehead is about as mediocre as mediocre gets. It's him in the standard homerun pose. Red jersey, red helmet and him on a red base. Plain and simple. To top it all off, it looks nothing like Pujols. Kloanz missed the mark on this one. But in the end, Albert Pujols is one of the greatest players ever, so I don't mind adding this to my collection.

    1. Hahaha! I'm not that ballsy. I'm just not the type of person to want negative attention.

  2. I always sport Dodger blue if i go there. With or without other Dodger fans. I was thinking maybe they should let the bobble head bat. Maybe it will do better than the actual Pujols. And your right. It looks nothing like him.

    1. Yeah, I'm a pussy and hate confrontation, so no Dodger gear in Anaheim unless the Dodgers are playing there.

  4. I thought the Angels were swiming in cash after this new TV contract. What the heck man, you can't afford to buy nicer looking bobbleheads? Even McCourt (pre team sale) can afford nicer looking bobbleheads, and he has 10 of them to giveaway compared to the Angels 2.

    1. I said the same thing. Hell, they're only giving away two. All that money, there should be more bobbles.

I bet that bobble could hit a homer before Albert will.

  6. It looks a lot like a bobble the Cardinals gave away of him a few years back. Same pose and everything.

  7. Wow... such Angel hate. A better stadium and a better team, I guess can make some fans bitter. I love the Dodgers but even I'm not this much of homer. The bobblehead is fine, it resembles him and that is the point. The stadium was great and the fact that Angel Stadium is the better stadium, better parking, cheaper parking, cheaper food, and cheaper tickets makes up for any negative experiences the fans can bring. Though I think the reason why the Angels didn't cheer much is because they were losing most of the game, and DID end up losing the game. The same occurs at Dodger stadium, where the only edge Dodger has over Angel is the amount of options for vegetarians.

    1. All in all, this isn't my favorite bobblehead (Kershaw, Kuo, Griffey, Alomar, Markakis are) but it's a decent one. Albert Pujols isn't dark-skinned if that really even matters to someone.
