Jarrin was honored before the game with a special video from the Dodgers and he also threw out the ceremonial first pitch. But before the ceremony on the field, Jaime met with the fans and signed autographs. I've been lucky enough to meet him a few times, but never got the autographs I really wanted, on the sweet spot of a baseball. That night I finally got it, plus a couple others.
Jaime Jarrin |
This is a Fernando Valenzuela card I got signed along with Jarrin. You can see Jaime's face peeking through there, so I figured I'd have both men sign it. |
Dodger Stadium organist Nancy Bea Hefley with her trademark musical note. She's another Dodger Stadium icon who shoulda got a bobblehead. |
Dodger legend Maury Wills |
Dodger rookie Shawn Tolleson |
Don Mattingly |
I hope next year the Dodgers get their act together and give Jaime Jarrin that bobblehead he deserves. I think the T-shirt is really cool, but a Hall of Famer deserves better.
Dug the shirt, wish I could have gotten out to the game. Even more so when I saw dudes wearing it on Scioscia bobblehead night.
ReplyDeleteI like the shirt a lot. i haven't worn mine yet. my wife cut hers up and wore the next night.
DeleteNice scores! Love the autographs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike!
DeleteDAMN dude. Great haul. Those balls are all amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ben!
Deleteshweet. please don't think badly of me when i say that i never realized that it was jaime jarrin lurking on fernando's fleer card.
ReplyDeleteMany people don't realize that that is Jaime. I don't think he has any cards, and since I love getting cards signed, this is the closest thing to having his own card.
DeleteWish I could've got Carter to sign it before he passed.
Awesome signatures man. A good day indeed. What I heard is that Jaime Jarrin will get his Bobblehead next year, They did not want have it this year because of the Vin Scully bobblehead. But i think they should of had a dual bobblehead of both Scully and Jarrin sitting down at there desks with a mic. But Jaime Jarrin will get his bobblehead.
ReplyDeleteExactly, I think the dual bobble head would have been the way to go in this case.
DeleteOr they could have made a Fernando/Jarrin dual bobblehead. But if he gets one next year, I guess it's better late than never.
DeleteGreat day of autos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Manny!
