The Return Of Manny

He's baaack. The Dodgers activated Manny Ramirez from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday after he missed 14 games because of a right calf strain. The Dodgers, who were scoring 6.53 runs a game with Manny this year, and only 3.93 without him, would love to have him back in the line-up. He'll actually be batting clean-up tonight.

Manny is close to another milestone. His next homer will break a tie with Mike Schmidt's for 14th place on the career list. His 548th came on April 18 as a pinch-hitter. Ramirez got his 2,500th hit on April 10 and his 1,800th RBI two days before he went on the DL.

I'm glad he's back. It'll take some of the pressure off of Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier, plus bring some excitement to the ballpark. Maybe we can even see that 549th homerun tonight.
