The Final Three Bobbleheads Announced For 2012 - Vin Scully Gets A Bobblehead!

The Dodgers just announced the final three bobbleheads to be given away in 2012.

Bobblehead# 5 - 1992 Rookie of the Year, Eric Karros
Bobblehead#7 -  1988 World Series hero, Kirk Gibson
Bobblehead#10 - The greatest Dodger of them all, Vin Scully

Eric Karros and Kirk Gibson are fine choices. I would've loved to have seen a bobblehead with all five rookies of the year, including Mike Piazza. Gibby already has a Dodger bobble, but I think he was due for a newer, better looking version.

I think the biggest news is that Vinny is finally getting a bobblehead. This is the one all Dodger fans wanted. Along with Sandy Koufax, there aren't any more beloved Dodgers, and they both are finally getting their bobblehead dues. I don't know how they convinced the humble Scully into allowing a bobblehead, but I'm glad they did.

Here's the complete list of 2012 Dodger bobbleheads:

  • April 28, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #1 - Don Drysdale and Maury Wills
  • May 15, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #2 - Orel Hershiser
  • May 29, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #3 - The Infield, Garvey, Cey, Russell and Lopes
  • June 12, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #4 - Mike Scioscia
  • June 28, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #5 - Eric Karros
  • July 14, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #6 - Tommy Lasorda and Walter Alston
  • July 31, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #7 - Kirk Gibson
  • August 7, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #8 - Sandy Koufax
  • August 21, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #9 - Fernando Valenzuela
  • August 30, 2012 - 2012 Bobblehead #10 - Vin Scully
  • Did the Dodgers get this right? Was there anyone they should've included in 2012?gust 302012 - 2012 Bobblehead #10

  1. What a line up! The only one i don't agree with is Fernando. 4 is too much. But i still want it. Time to purchase a Bobble Mini Plan.

  2. I think an interesting one would be to replace the single Fernando with a four top of the ROYs from 79-82 (Sutcliffe, Howe, Fernando, Sax).

  3. This is the best Dodger bobble head line up ever! Scully and Koufax will rest on my mantle right next to the limited edition Michael Spiegel bobble.

  4. Do you know if the nights there are multiple bobbleheads if you get them all? And if you do are they the "normal" size ones or are they mini's????

  5. Good suggestion, Johnny! The Howe bobble should come with a vial of coke. That would make things a lot more interesting in the Pavillion.

  6. Follow Me - Agreed on Fernando.

Hiflew - agreed. And they should've done the same thing with the 90's ROYs too.

193 - Those nights aren't multiple boobbleheads. All of those players will be on one bobblehead. It's probably gonna look something like this.

Mike - The best line up ever! And I love the coke vial idea!

  7. I think a piazza would of been better than another Valenzuela. But other than that what a great year it's gonna be.

  8. What about a bobble to commemorate the 13 consecutive home wins to start the season in 2009 , maybe Orlando Hudson because of his opening day cycle and he wore # 13.

    1. I think it needs to be some huge accomplishment or a really popular player. Mike Piazza definitely deserves one. Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella should get one in the future. Last year the Minnesota Twins sold the entire 1991 team set of bobbleheads. That was all 25 players on the World Series team. I think the Dodgers should do the same with the 1988 team.
