The Dodgers needed to release the picture of one final 2012 bobblehead, Fernando Valenzuela. Today they finally showed it to us. This bobble celebrates the no-hitter Fernando threw on June 29, 1990. If you hadn't noticed, Fernie is wearing some rather large glasses making this one of the funniest looking Dodger bobbleheads ever given away.
This Fernando bobblehead will be given away on Tuesday, August 21 when the Dodgers take on the San Francisco Giants.
I like it. It's different frm the rest of all the other Fernando bobbleheads and it celebrates his no hitter. A win win in my book
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I just hope this is it for a while on Fernando bobbles.
DeleteI actually remember when he sported those glasses for the first time. The Eighties were wacky like that. FernandoMania was crazy. That he didn't throw that no-hitter till 1990 was astonishing to me. The way his rookie year went, I thought he might throw one sooner. MLB needs another screwball pitcher in baseball again!
ReplyDeleteThe 80's were nuts. Even though I was a kid, I still think it's my favorite decade.
DeleteYes, MLB needs more screwball pitchers!
Awesome bobble head, this has to be his best bobble yet.
ReplyDeleteI too love that bobblehead. The glasses reminded me of some similar glasses I used to sport back then. Somewhere I have a picture of me and Tom Neidenfuer (yeah him) when I used to have those kind of glasses. Do I dare post that pic? Don't know.... Thanks for the retweet DB! -Emma
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, but I agree with you. That's enough for quite some time. Number 4 if I'm not mistaking.
